Adventures in starting a boutique business

I am going to try my hand at blogging about all the hard work, successes and disappointments in starting my own business. First a little about me. I am a 28 year old stay at home mom that has found a passion for sewing and creating clothing for my 2 beatutiful children. My husband Mark and I have been marriend for 7 years and share a love of Disney World. My 1st designs were all creations for Disney World. I still love to create customs for a trip to the most magical place on Earth!

The boutique, pirateandprincescouture.com was established in 2008 and named for my beautiful princess, Roseanna, and my playful pirate, Russell. Like Roseanna and Russell, my designs tend to be fun, colorful, a bit wild and very unique. I love to have bright colors and unexpected elements on my creations. My line has grown from Disney sets to a full line of seasonal clothing including baby items, like burp cloths and stuffed toys. I also now have a line of Disney tees for adults as well.

Setting up the website was the easy part but I am still struggling with getting the word out. I just launched a friends and family promotion to help get the word out. I will pass the promotion onto anyone reading as well. Use coupon code NEW09 to take 15% off your order until 2/2/09. Over the next 2 weeks, spring items will start to be added to my store as well as more Disney sets.

I hope that you will follow along with me and my family on this exciting journey into the boutique world. There will also be updates on the family as well.
